Boardcut

Terms of Use

Effective date: July 3, 2026 · Last updated: July 3, 2026

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using Boardcut (“the app”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Planning calculator — verify before you cut

Boardcut is a planning calculator for woodworking cut lists. Its output depends entirely on the dimensions and settings you enter. Always verify every dimension against your actual material before cutting — sheet sizes, blade kerf, and lumber dimensions vary, nominal sizes differ from actual sizes, and material can be warped or out of square. You are solely responsible for confirming all measurements and layouts before making any cut.

Boardcut does not provide instruction on tool use or workshop safety. Cut diagrams and cut-step lists describe geometry only, not how to operate any tool. Follow your tool manufacturer’s instructions, use proper safety equipment, and work within your own skill level. All cutting and workshop activity is carried out at your own risk.

3. Your content and data

Your projects are stored only on your device (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for your device, for backups you choose to make, and for any files you export and share.

4. License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms.

5. Boardcut Pro (one-time purchase)

Boardcut offers an optional one-time purchase (“Boardcut Pro”) that unlocks unlimited pieces per project, vector PDF plans, saving offcuts as stock, and CSV export.

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the app, attempt to reverse engineer it except as permitted by law, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

7. No warranty

The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app is error-free, that any layout is optimal, or that any yield, waste, or cost figure shown is accurate or achievable with your material. Optimization results are estimates based on your input.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Softgrove is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any material loss, measurement error, miscut, or injury arising from use of, or reliance on, the app or its output.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
